PulseGuard Terms of Use

Last updated: 2 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us about using PulseGuard. By creating an account you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be skipped — the parts that limit what PulseGuard can do for you are the parts most worth your time.

The three things that matter most. PulseGuard is not an emergency service — it cannot call an ambulance, and nobody is watching a screen. It is not a medical device and gives no health advice. Your Legacy Vault is not a will, and recording your wishes here does not make them legally binding on anyone.

Who we are

PulseGuard is operated by JY Bodega Enterprise, of 23, Desa Pahlawan, Jalan Ampang, 55000, Malaysia. Write to pulseguard.care@gmail.com about anything here.

What PulseGuard does

You confirm you are okay — either by pressing a button each day, or simply by opening the app if you have chosen not to check in daily. If your account goes quiet for longer than you have set, we contact the people you named as your Care Circle. You can also store written instructions and recorded messages that are released to those people only under the conditions in section "Releasing your vault".

What PulseGuard is not

It is not an emergency service. We do not call the police, an ambulance, or anybody else on your behalf. We send messages to the people you chose, and it is then for them to act. If you are in danger, contact the emergency services directly.

Nobody is watching. Alerts are generated by software on a schedule. There is no monitoring centre and no person on duty.

It is not a medical device. PulseGuard does not detect falls, monitor your health, diagnose anything, or give medical advice. A missed check-in means only that a button was not pressed.

It is not a will, and not legal advice. A written instruction or recorded video in your Legacy Vault has no legal force on its own. It does not create, replace, or amend a will, and it does not transfer ownership of anything. If you want your wishes to bind anyone, see a solicitor and make a will. Use PulseGuard for the practical things a will does not carry well — where documents are, who to telephone, what you would want said.

What we can and cannot promise

We will make a genuine effort to deliver every reminder and every alert, and to record honestly when we could not. But delivery depends on things outside our control: your device, your network, your email provider, and the third parties listed in our Privacy Notice. Email can be delayed, filtered as spam, or refused. Notifications can be silenced by a phone's own settings.

So we cannot guarantee that an alert will arrive, or arrive in time. PulseGuard is one layer of a safety net, not the whole of it. Do not rely on it as the only way anyone would learn you were unwell.

We will not deliberately switch the service off without telling you. If we ever have to stop running PulseGuard, we will give you notice and time to retrieve what you have stored.

Your account

You must be 13 or over. If you are under 18, use PulseGuard with the knowledge of a parent or guardian — the people in your Care Circle will be contacted about you when you stop checking in, so they should be people your family is happy to involve.

Sign-in is by a link sent to your email address, so whoever can read that inbox can reach your account — keep it secure, and tell us if you think someone else has access.

Give us accurate details. An alert can only reach the address or number you actually typed.

Your Care Circle

When you add someone, you are giving us their contact details so we can invite them and, if you go quiet, contact them about you. Only add people who would expect to hear from you. Nobody is added silently: they are told who invited them, and they join only if they accept.

Anyone in your Care Circle can leave at any time. If they do, they stop being contacted, and you will see that they are no longer there.

Releasing your vault

Your instructions and recordings are released only when all of the following are true:

Any activity on your account stops a release, and we tell you it was stopped. Nobody in your Care Circle can request a release, and we will not release your vault on anyone's request — including a request that claims you have died. That review step is a safeguard, not a service promise: we may decline or delay a release if we are not satisfied the conditions are genuinely met.

Stored credentials are never released, whatever else is. Note also that most banks and other providers forbid sharing your login details with anyone, so recording where something is kept is safer than recording the password itself — and it is what PulseGuard asks you to do.

Plans and payment

Some features require a paid plan. Prices are shown in the app before you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.

Plans renew automatically until you stop them. You can stop a plan renewing at any time from within the app, and you keep what you paid for until the end of the period you have already paid. We do not refund part-used periods, and stopping a plan does not delete anything.

Alerts do not stop when a plan does. Being contacted if you go quiet is not a paid feature and will not be taken away because a payment lapsed. What a plan changes is how many people you may add and how much you may store.

Someone else may pay for your account. If they do, they see what they are paying for and can stop paying — they do not get access to your vault, your messages, or anything beyond what any Care Circle member sees.

Payment must be made by an adult. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to pay rather than using their card yourself. The free plan needs no payment, and being contacted if you go quiet is part of it.

If we change a price, we will tell you before it applies to you.

Using it properly

Do not use PulseGuard to harass, monitor, or track anyone against their wishes, to store anything unlawful, or to add people who have not agreed to hear from you. Do not try to break into other people's accounts or interfere with the service. We may suspend an account being used this way.

Ending it

You can stop using PulseGuard at any time and ask us to delete your account; we will remove your data as described in the Privacy Notice. Deletion is permanent — your vault and recordings go with it.

We may close an account that breaks these terms, or after a long period with no sign of use, and will tell you first where we can.

If something goes wrong

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under Malaysian law.

Beyond that, and because PulseGuard is a low-cost service that cannot control whether a message arrives, we are not liable for losses arising from an alert that was late, undelivered, or not acted on by the people you chose, nor for what anyone in your Care Circle does or fails to do. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

We say this plainly rather than burying it: if it matters that somebody knows you are unwell, do not let PulseGuard be the only thing that would tell them.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use PulseGuard after that means you accept the new terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
